Hi, Terry posting here.
One of the stories that Dad and Uncle Bill told that always amused me was about sharing a winter coat when they were in college in Bozeman. I think they were rooming together and neither could afford a good winter coat, so they shared one that was, I believe, a hand-me-down from a relative. During the cold winter months they had to coordinate their social lives and take turns wearing the coat. They could not go out on a date the same night. I remember Dad saying that even when he had the coat, it was still rather embarrassing because while it was warm, it was not at all stylish and quite large.
I imagined something like the coats that Russian Cossacks wore! (I could be way off here) I remember Uncle Bill said he liked to wear it ice skating because it swayed nicely as one swooped across the ice. I wonder what happened to the coat.
Anybody else have memories of the "coat" story?
